On 25 November, between 9h30 and 13h15, the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP) will organise an event on “The use of Blockchain technology in education”, which aims to present a set of materials produced as part of the international “Generation Blockchain” project and discuss the opportunities and challenges in implementing technological solutions, such as Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies, in education, companies and markets.

In addition to the FEP, the “Generation Blockchain” project includes the University of Szczecin (Poland), the Frankfurt School Blockchain Centre (Germany), Momentum Educate+ Innovate (Ireland), the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) and the European E-learning Institute (Denmark). Its aim is to increase literacy on blockchain technology, concepts and applications among students and educators, integrating them into academic disciplines, education, research, industry and governance.

The plenary session, which will close the event, will feature a panel made up of Hélder Rosalino, Director of Banco de Portugal, Rui Serapicos, President of the Portuguese Blockchain Alliance, and Tiago Laranjeiro, Founder of Ophir Labs. All event participants are invited to share their vision and experience on the topics presented.

The event will take place in Auditorium 631 of the Postgraduate Building of the FEP.
