As part of the mission of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP) to contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of society, the institution and the Super Bock Group, a leader in the brewing sector in Portugal, have joined forces to sign an “Incentive for Scientific Excellence” protocol.
Recognizing the importance of research, the entities intend to boost the production of scientific articles that are distinguished by their degree of excellence and impact. To this end, the Super Bock Group will provide support, for a minimum period of three years, to encourage FEP teachers and researchers, authors of scientific articles, whose performance stands out during each calendar year.
“As a responsible business group, we have always sought to promote culture, entrepreneurship, innovation and research, practices that are relevant to the economic and social development of the communities in which we operate. The signing of this protocol, to encourage and promote scientific excellence, with a top institution such as FEP, is a further reflection of our commitment and vision for society,” says the CEO of the Super Bock Group, Rui Lopes Ferreira.
FEP’s Executive Board has established as a criterion for awarding this incentive the need for articles to be accepted for publication in scientific journals indexed in categories 3 to 4* of the Academic Journal Guide Ranking of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (ABS).
“This Scientific Excellence Award will be an incentive to strengthen our position as an international research school in the areas of Economics and Management. We believe it will have a significant impact on the fulfillment of our mission to contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of society, as it is a unique opportunity to recognize the outstanding work carried out by our teachers and researchers,” says FEP Dean Óscar Afonso.
