On 11th December, the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto launched the career mentoring programme for the current academic year, a project aimed at promoting intergenerational networking and supporting the professional development of its students and alumni.

This year, the programme includes 47 mentees, who will have the opportunity to learn from 35 volunteer mentors from various fields, all eager to share their experiences and knowledge gained throughout their careers.

The launch event was marked by inspiring testimonials from prominent mentors, such as Pedro Almeida Couto (Director of the Portuguese Esports Federation), Cláudia Dias (Head of Telco Management Control & Corporate BI at NOS SGPS), Rui Sá Morais (CEO of Casa da Música), Paulo Pires (Manager of Fiscal & Financial Incentives at Forvis Mazars), and Luís Maria Cabral (Angel Investor / Co-Founder of WiseWorld.ai / Tagpeak). Each of the speakers emphasised the importance of sharing knowledge and giving back to the community, highlighting the immense value of the programme for both mentors and mentees.

The career mentoring programme, which has been running since 2018, is an initiative of the FEP Alumni Association (AAAFEP), with the support of the School and the Students’ Association (AEFEP). In addition to supporting professional development, the programme also fosters alumni engagement with the school, strengthening personal and professional bonds between different generations of students.
