The School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP) has just launched a new campaign to tackle food waste, as part of its Green Heart Certification, awarded in May 2024. The initiative is part of the Dose Certa (Right Portion) programme, promoted by LIPOR, and involves the direct collaboration of the FEP Bar.

The campaign’s main goal is to raise awareness within the academic community about more conscious consumption practices, encouraging a more sustainable, balanced diet with a lower environmental footprint. This action marks yet another step in FEP’s commitment to building an increasingly sustainable campus.

As a strategic partner, LIPOR has played a key role in the development of the project, conducting training sessions for the bar’s staff, encouraging reflection on best practices, and overseeing the implementation of the Dose Certa programme. This programme focuses on adjusting portion sizes to match consumers’ actual needs, thereby significantly reducing food waste.

By engaging students, teaching staff, and employees, this campaign aims not only to reduce waste but also to foster a culture of shared responsibility around sustainable food practices. Through this initiative, FEP reinforces its active role in promoting a more conscious and responsible future.
