On 18th and 25th March, the School of Economics and Management at the University of Porto (FEP), in collaboration with the EXUP – Experienced Upgrade Program, welcomed around 500 secondary school students for two editions of its traditional Open Day event. The event, aimed at students interested in the fields of Economics and Management, sought to help young people make more informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.
Over the course of two afternoons, the participants, coming from different schools in the northern region, had the opportunity to explore the Main Building of FEP and take part in a variety of activities, such as a treasure hunt, flash dialogues on topics like employability and internationalisation, and performances by the faculty’s student music groups. The students also had the chance to interact with current FEP students, gaining an authentic insight into university life and the educational offerings of the faculty.
This event was made possible thanks to the collaborative efforts of the various services within the Faculty and the support of around 80 volunteer students. “It was a unique moment in which we were able to bring secondary school students closer to our academic reality, helping them choose their future with confidence,” said Óscar Afonso, Dean of FEP.
