On November 7, at 6pm, FEP’s Grand Hall will host the conference “Education for Growth: Economy x Education – Cause and Consequence”. This event is part of the Tomorrow Summit, organized by the Academic Federation of Porto (FAP) and recognized as one of Porto Academy’s main contributions to the discussion on innovation, technology, science, education and sustainability.
The guest speakers are Pedro Nuno Teixeira, Full Professor at FEP and former Secretary of State for Higher Education, and Pedro Santa Clara, Director of Tumo and Escola 42, as well as a University Professor. Both will share valuable contributions on the interrelationship between education and the economy, promoting an essential debate on how training can boost economic growth and how economic dynamics influence the education system.
In this edition, the Tomorrow Summit focuses on reflecting on and contributing to the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Portugal and Europe, reaffirming education as a fundamental pillar for economic and social development.
By associating itself with this event, FEP aims to instill an entrepreneurial and non-conformist mentality in students and young people, preparing them to face the challenges of today’s society. The School reaffirms its commitment to promoting education as a guarantor of a more competitive and sustainable future, while at the same time seeking to bring the region’s higher education institutions closer to the productive fabric and political power, promoting sustained development based on science and knowledge.
The participation of the academic community, professionals and students is encouraged, offering a unique opportunity to interact and discuss innovative solutions to contemporary challenges.
