2023 was characterised by notable celebrations and remarkable achievements. The celebrations for the institution’s 70th anniversary, which will continue until May next year, were particularly memorable, with the President of the Republic honouring FEP with one of the highest insignia of the Portuguese State.

Under the leadership of the (new) Executive Board, FEP has maintained its focus on the three strategic objectives that make up its mission: teaching, research and impact on society.

As far as teaching is concerned, a strategic partnership with Microsoft and a record number of international mobile students were important milestones and there is also the launch next year of at least one of the ten new Executive Master’s programmes: the Master in Management of Retail Operations.

In the sphere of research, some of FEP’s researchers have been recognised internationally, highlighting the quality and impact of their contributions to the production of knowledge.

The impact on society gained momentum with the successful launch of the Office of Economic, Business and Public Policy Studies. Relations with companies were strengthened, with the establishment of new partnerships and the consolidation of existing ties.

The outstanding position in international rankings such as QS and Financial Times continues to be a source of pride, underlining the recognition of FEP’s quality and relevance on a global scale.

In the area of sport, the community celebrated AEFEP’s winning of the title of National University Football Champion, demonstrating not only their dedication to sport, but also FEP’s characteristic spirit of unity and excellence.

The year 2023 was thus full of remarkable achievements, the result of the commitment, dedication and talent of all the members of the academic community.
