The School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP) achieved third place in the ranking of higher education institutions with the best reputation in Portugal, according to the most recent results of the “Brand Reputation in Portugal” study, conducted by the consultancy firm OnStrategy. In 2025, FEP scored a total of 75.9 points, just 1.1 points behind the top-ranked institution, which obtained 77 points.

This result represents a significant rise compared to 2024, when FEP was ranked sixth with 74.9 points — only 2.1 points behind the first place. This progression reflects a continuous improvement in how the institution is perceived by the Portuguese public and further reinforces its prominent position within the national higher education landscape.

OnStrategy’s study is based on a 100-point scale and stems from the audit of more than 2,000 brands across over 70 sectors of activity. These brands were initially identified spontaneously by more than 50,000 citizens over a 52-week period. The participants represent Portuguese society in terms of geographic distribution, gender, age, education level, and social class. This rigorous process highlights the brands that truly stand out in public perception.

In a top 10 that also includes institutions such as Nova University Lisbon, Instituto Superior Técnico, the Portuguese Catholic University, and ISEG, FEP stands out not only for its academic prestige but also for the growing recognition of its brand among Portuguese society.

FEP’s performance confirms its relevance among the most reputable higher education institutions in Portugal, demonstrating the increasing trust placed in its academic and social mission by the Portuguese population.
