Jorge Farinha, the Director of the Master in Finance (MIF) at the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP), recently visited Warsaw, where he carried out a teaching mission with MIF students at Kozminski University. The visit is part of the long-standing collaboration between the two institutions, which offers students the opportunity to obtain a double degree in the Master in Finance programme.

During his stay, Professor Jorge Farinha had the opportunity to engage with second-year MIF students, sharing knowledge and experiences with future finance professionals. Alexandre Pinho, an FEP alumnus currently working at Goldman Sachs in Warsaw, was also present at the meeting and shared his professional journey with the students.

The collaboration between FEP and Kozminski University includes the ongoing exchange of faculty and students. Currently, five MIF students from FEP are completing the Double Degree programme at the Polish institution: Hugo Freitas, Miguel Gonçalves, Bernardo Silva, Sérgio Garcez, and Duarte Caseiro. These students are benefiting from this unique international training opportunity, which will allow them to broaden their horizons and enrich their academic and professional trajectories.

Strengthening the FEP Alumni network: initiatives in Prague

As part of its internationalisation efforts and with the aim of further strengthening the FEP Alumni network, two representatives from the School’s Career and Development Service, Helena Maia and Márcia Gonçalves, recently visited the FEP Alumni Ambassador in Prague, Romeu Veloso. During the visit, memories and experiences were shared, but, most importantly, new ideas and initiatives emerged to enhance the global FEP Alumni network. This initiative highlights FEP’s commitment to maintaining a continuous connection with its alumni and creating new professional and academic development opportunities through this international network.

Both the collaboration with Kozminski University and the meeting with the Alumni Ambassador in Prague are examples of FEP’s strong commitment to internationalisation and the creation of bridges between its students, alumni, and educational institutions worldwide.
